Book Interior Design
Text and illustration placed together so every spread is clear and engaging.

Service introduction
In children's books, where the words sit on the artwork matters as much as the words themselves.
We plan page turns, place text in clear areas of each illustration and choose readable type for your reader's age, working with your artwork or ours.
Reading level
Type size, line length and the space between words all affect how easily a child reads a page, and the right settings change sharply between ages four and ten.
We set the interior to the reading level you are writing for, which usually means larger type, shorter measures and generous leading for early readers, then a gradual tightening for middle grade. Illustrations are placed so text never runs across a busy area, and page turns are planned so each spread ends at a natural beat in the story.
Typical clients here are children's authors and picture book publishers in the United States, Australia, the UAE and India. Send us your project details and we will reply with questions, an approach and a quote before any work starts.
